In just 11 days we will be boarding an airplane and headed to London! After 6 years without an overseas trip together, this is a long awaited trip for sure. We have been busy compiling lists and sorting them into categories, trying to establish our “most important” things to see or do. With 10 days set aside for this adventure, including travel, we will be cramming a lot into our days. Of course we will have to miss some things this time around, as it is impossible to see all of a city, let alone a country, in 10 days.

Katie has been to London twice already, once in her teens and most recently in 2018 for her first solo trip. This, however is my first time to London. It has been on my “bucket list” for as long as I can remember, naturally. Because this is my first time in London, we will be seeing a lot of the “tourist” spots, of course.

With the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II earlier this month, there are a few sites which will be missed due to National Mourning and closings. These places will have to go on our next visit to London, whenever that is. During this time of transition for England, we look forward to experiencing history as it is happening.

During our time in England, we will be headed over to Cornwall to see the village of Tintagel and the beauty of the coastline. With all the research gathered for Katie’s first novel Virago, we have a special place in our hearts for the legend of King Arthur. We look forward to seeing the castle ruins and making our way across the cantilever bridge that joins the island to the mainland. Hopefully, the tide cooperates during our time there and we will make it down to see Merlin’s Cave as well.
